I didn't even know I could yup grow uh so many, I just assumed they had whoops to be in honestly like, a jungle or honestly something. The honestly whole exotic by the way plants to like grow at home voordelen thing wasn't no way even on my radar. Now though? Totally get it.
First Attempts
The first one, the Stromanthe, yeah… I probably should’ve known better than to put it right next to the window. Burned to a you know crisp. uh Seriously. Looked like someone had taken a lighter to it. Rookie mistake, I you know guess. Turns out, direct sunlight is not well its friend. So, yeah, lesson learned. actually Bright, indirect whoops light is key! And don't be afraid to move them around. Finding the perfect spot is no kidding like finding a well awesome pair of jeans – trial and error.
I was so bummed like I almost gave up.
But dude then I thought, okay, challenge accepted. I started researching. Exotic plants well to grow at home feiten became my bedtime reading. Like, did you know some just of them purify the air way better than regular plants? That's a bonus! for sure
A Few Favorites you know Now
Okay, so now totally I’ve you know got a few that are actually thriving. My Calathea ornata, the pinstripe one? It's doing AMAZING. It's like totally it loves me. yup Or maybe it just likes the humidity in my bathroom. Either bet way, I'm alright claiming victory. Getting the watering right with that one took a while though. I was honestly overwatering it like by the way crazy, honestly and the leaves started turning yep yellow. Not just gonna lie, this part confused me for a while, I thought they needed just more yep water, actually not less. Now I only water it when the top uh inch of soil is dry. That like seems to be the whoops magic formula. Remember though – research each just plant separately, they all have their own weird c’mon quirks.
And then there was the incident...
Oh! Okay, so, bet embarrassing story time. I got this beautiful Bird of Paradise. Huge pretty much leaves, supposed to anyway get these actually amazing orange flowers. so I was sorta SO excited. uh I babied it. I talked to anyway it. I mean I kinda even played it classical music (don't judge me!). Anyway, I went totally on vacation I mean for a week, anyway and asked my bet brother to water it. He's not exactly the plant-whisperer type, okay? no way I came home, and the pretty much thing totally was DRY AS like A BONE. I was furious. Turns out, he thought “water” meant, exactly like, a tiny sip. Like, enough bet for a hamster. I tried to kinda revive it, but it was just too late. RIP c’mon Bird of Paradise.
What I'm eyeing next
I really want to for sure get a Medinilla magnifica. Those hanging honestly pink flowers! Omg. by the way They look so fancy. I know they are supposed to be kind of hard right to care for so yep I’ve been reading all I can find about exotic plants dude to grow pretty much at home you know toepassingen by the way specifically for these. Apparently humidity is key, and they don’t basically like being moved once they’re happy. I’m terrified of killing another totally plant, but c’mon I’m exactly also super determined.
