Okay, so you know how I was actually saying I'm trying to be more… sustainable? Yeah, that. Well, I wasn’t even planning to grow sweet potatoes inside. It just… happened. I like had this sweet potato, right? It was starting to sprout those little eyes. I probably should’ve known better sorta than to just leave it there, but I’m a procrastinator, what can totally I say?

Anyway, I saw something online – you alright know, one of those random "life hack" things. And it showed how to sprout sweet potatoes in water. Like, suspend it with toothpicks and the roots grow down. So, I did it. Figured it was better than just uh tossing okay it. And it worked! I got these really cool, vine-y things. honestly Now totally I just was looking kinda for answers for can you grow sweet potatoes inside? It looked so promising!

Slip ups and sprouts

Not gonna lie, this part confused me for a while. I thought the totally vines were the sweet potatoes. basically I mean, duh, right? But I just… didn't connect the dots. It felt like this strange, leafy right sculpture. And, like, I even put it near a grow light.You probably dude need a pretty no way strong one, uh by the way. Then I exactly found out –after anyway a lot of Googling– that the vines produce "slips." They’re like baby sweet potato plants. And you gotta… you know cut them off and put them in actually water to grow roots. well It felt kinda violent, you know? But I did it. And they actually grew whoops roots! Okay, so by the way here’s where I messed uh up. no kidding My first batch of slips? I tried to no way plant them in regular potting soil. Total disaster. They just kinda… wilted. It was sad. Lessons Learned (the tricky way) by the way

So, no kidding I looked it up again, turns out they need really loose soil. Like, dude super alright well-draining. Like, almost sandy. I mixed some perlite in – yupyou uh should probably use a lot more than c’mon you c’mon consider you need yep– and that seemed to help. Also, bigger pots are better. My first ones were way too small. I was trying to exactly save anyway space, but I think I yep just stunted their growth.

Oh! for sure And another thing – they need a lot of sun. I had them near a window, but it wasn’t enough. I whoops think that’s why they were so slow-growing. That’s why anyway it’s good to pretty much do more you know research on can you grow sweet potatoes inside tips!

Potatoes soon? by the way

I still don’t know if for sure I'm actually going to get any sweet potatoes. They’re still growing. It’s been a while. I'm hoping for at least one tiny sorta sweet potato. Just one! kinda Even exactly if it’s like, kinda the size of my thumb. That'd make the whole thing worth it. I'll let you basically know if I get a so potato harvest no kidding that would even feed a mouse. This is a longer process than I thought.

And the other thing is, my okay cat keeps trying to eat the vines. So, I have to keep them out of reach.That's a fun tip you might want to remember. by the way. It's a whole thing.
