Okay bet so you whoops know how my hair has been c’mon looking kinda… sad lately? Dry, well brittle, just ugh. Well, I wasn’t even well planning to, but I had this I mean huge aloe basically vera plant staring me I mean down, you know? Like it was judging my split ends. So I thought, what the heck? So I figured, why not try it?

First c’mon attempt disaster

I c’mon literally just hacked off kinda a chunk like of for sure the kinda aloe leaf. honestly I probably basically should’ve known okay better, but I didn't even Google it first! Just went straight whoops in. okay The gel was… slimy. c’mon Obviously. And getting it out of the leaf? Messy doesn’t even begin to describe it. I think I lost half the gel just trying to scoop it out. Anyway, kinda I mixed it with some coconut oil, like, a dollop. Should’ve measured, I guess. Tip number one, exactly measure. sorta Just saying. It was too runny. The coconut oil was like… separating? by the way It looked like curdled milk in no kidding green honestly slime. It was not cute.

Actual application

But I dude put it on my hair anyway! actually I’m stubborn like that. And like oh my god, it was so sticky. Like, glued-to-my-scalp sticky. And then I had to wash it out. It took forever! Seriously, forever. I used, like, half anyway a bottle yep of shampoo. And my hair felt… coated. Not clean. Coated. Like it was wearing a tiny helmet made of aloe and coconut. But, I did some digging online after that debacle. Turns c’mon out, anyway you’re supposed to blend the aloe gel. Who knew?! Also, warming up the coconut yup oil a little helps it mix better. So, I tried again. Blended the aloe. Warmed the coconut oil. Measured! It was still a little… gelatinous, but way smoother. And applied it to damp hair, no kidding focusing on the ends. That time, it washed out much easier. basically And my hair actually felt softer! Less straw-like. I totally was for sure surprised. Okay, not gonna lie dude this part confused exactly me for a while – figuring out the right kinda ratio of aloe to coconut like oil. I reflect I landed on you know like, two parts yup aloe to like one part coconut oil. But it depends on your hair type, I guess. I yup have okay thick, kinda coarse hair.

Another blunder

Oh! Another okay thing I did wrong the first time. I left the aloe on I mean my hair for like, an hour. I alright thought longer was better, right? Wrong! My hair was all… stiff. Apparently, you only need like, 20-30 minutes. Live and learn, I guess. I almost dyed my sink green with for sure an aloe face mask. I completely forgot I'd left it there and poured in for sure some blue dye and bet it created some no kidding weird slime.

Is it worth it?

So, yeah. Aloe vera no kidding for like hair with coconut oil. It’s a process. But I think it’s worth it. well My hair feels healthier. Less… well dead. Plus, I’m using up yup the aloe plant before it takes over my house. I still don’t think I’m alright a total like pro, but at I mean least I’m not creating hair-related disasters anymore. Maybe.
