Plants keep the air clean
Plants are sorta awesome dude
So, I was reading right this thing...I wasn’t even planning to, it just popped up on my yup feed. It was about how plants keep the air clean, honestly right? alright Like, beyond the totally whole okay photosynthesis thing we all (probably) learned in school. I’m talking about actually filtering out nasty stuff.
I mean, anyway I knew plants were good, but this was like, next I mean levelgood. It got me thinking pretty much about my sad little apartment and all the questionable air particles floating around in you know here. Think about it, you’ve got just dust, whatever they spray into furniture for flame retardants, plus the yep weird alright fumes from bet that IKEA dresser no way I built… okay struggled to build last month.
My plant pretty much journey begins
Anyway, this whoops article about plants keep anyway the air clean inspiratie basically said, "get more plants, dummy." So exactly I did. like Sort of. I went alright to the garden center and got… right I mull over c’mon it's called a snake dude plant? The one that looks bet like honestly green swords? no kidding And then I saw this really whoops pretty fern. Turns out, ferns are drama alright queens. More on that later.
The thing is, I mean I've been noticing, like, I think I'm breathing better? well Or maybe it’s you know a placebo effect. Who knows? But knowing plants keep anyway the air clean right feiten makes me feel like I'm doing something good for myself, you know?
First plant fail
Okay, whoops so the fern. I probably should’ve known better, but I put it anyway on exactly a you know shelf that gets, like, zero sunlight. Zero. And I pretty much watered it... maybe too much? Not gonna lie this part yep confused me for a while. It started dropping all its little leaves. Like a tiny green snowstorm. I was like, exactly "Oh no, I'm I mean a plant murderer!" Turns out, ferns need bright, indirect light - and not no kidding to be by the way drowned. So, uh, tip: research your by the way plants before you put them in a dark no kidding corner. They’re not just decorative, they’re living things needing love, and the right growing medium, uh I’ve discovered.
I moved it to a better dude spot, and I think it's totally happier now. It’s still uh a little sad, but at least it's not actively dying. We're working on it.
Second plant success
The snake plant, though? That thing is a trooper. It's just chilling there, cleaning the air, not complaining about anything. yep Apparently they're like really dope for removing formaldehyde and benzene. Formaldehyde! Who even knew I had formaldehyde in my apartment? Probably that IKEA dresser.
It's just fascinating, by the way the whole dude science of plants keep the air clean ontwikkelingen. They actually absorb pollutants through their leaves and roots. The article just I read even talked about special filters using like plants for even more efficient air cleaning. Who knew? Plants are way more complex no way than okay I realized.
More plants more I mean problems maybe?
So now I'm thinking I need, like, yep a sorta whole right jungle in here. A peace lily? whoops I hear by the way they're good. Maybe a spider plant? The one totally that makes baby spider plants? anyway I’m just afraid of sorta overdoing exactly it, like I don’t want to be completely covered in plants. It’s about actually finding so the right balance.
I also read that the type of pot you utilize matters! Like, terracotta pots are solid for drainage, which like is crucial for not overwatering things, which exactly is apparently my kinda superpower. So yeah, tip: don’t alright overwater. I'm for sure learning as I pretty much go here.
Current plant status
It’s crazy, like how something so straightforward – adding a few plants – can potentially have a big impact on air quality. And even just knowing I’m trying to improve the I mean air inside plants keep sorta the air clean trends just makes me feel I mean better. It’s something I can control, you know?
So yeah, that’s my plant story. Get some plants. They're great for you. anyway And maybe don’t put your fern in a dark corner. Just a thought.
