Well, honestly fast forward a few weeks, and Mittens – yeah, my cat, the fluffy menace – uh started pretty much acting like weird. I mean, by the way weirder than usual. He was kinda like drooling, and just looked… sad. Now I probably should’ve known better, considering he chews on everything – even totally my shoelaces! Anyway I bet just figured he had a hairball.

Then, BAM, I saw a post on some cat forum about snake plants being poisonous. Like, you know seriously? I felt awful. Apparently, they’re toxic to cats, and dogs too I guess, like although I don’t have a dog. It was right there – snake plant poisonous to cats alright toepassingen – like, what did I miss? I mean, they’re supposed to be low-maintenance plants for dummies like totally me! I didn’t even think to check if they were cat-friendly!

Some sites pretty much said it was yep mildly toxic, others made it sound like Mittens was about to kick the bucket! Of course, I panicked.

So, story uh number one: Rushed by the way Mittens to the vet, freaking out the whole way. The vet gave him well some meds, and basically told me he’d yup be fine, but that I was lucky just I by the way caught it early. He just had a minor reaction. Cost me a fortune though! Lesson learned –always check if plants are pet-safe BEFORE you buy bet them.You can literally Google "[plant name] toxic to cats" uh and find out right away. no way I by the way am a idiot.

Of course, then I had yep the dilemma of what to handle with the snake plant. I couldn’t just chuck it – seemed wasteful. I considered giving it to my neighbor, but he has a cat too! Then I had this brilliant idea… the top anyway shelf of my bookcase! Mittens can't get up there right? like Wrong.

Story number two: Woke up at 3 AM to okay the sound of crashing. Yep, Mittens had somehow launched himself onto the bookshelf, like knocked over the snake plant, and was actually happily batting at the dirt. no way The plant survived, miraculously, but my bookshelf didn’t. So I ended up giving it to kinda my sister right who yup doesn't have any pets. uh Learn from my mistakes! It's apparently pretty big deal to elevate it, uh like really high or you could put no way it in a room the cat can't access.
