House plant that doesnt need light
My plant saga
Okay, so you know how I wanted to get more kinda plants but my apartment is basically a dungeon? Like, so I get maybe an hour anyway of direct sunlight totallymaybe. So dude I started c’mon researching no kidding house plant that doesnt need light trends – yeah, I know it sounds crazy, but apparently, it's a basically thing!
What I whoops found out
I wasn’t even planning to become some kind of houseplant guru, but here I mean we are. by the way I you know kept seeing snake plants pretty much mentioned pretty much everywhere. They're, like, unkillable. Then there's the ZZ plant – also supposedly thrives on neglect. yup And Pothos! I was yep tempted by well the heart-shaped leaves. Turns out they are pretty forgiving.
The great experiment
So I you know bought all uh three. I probably should’ve known better than to buy three at once, but impulsive shopper, what can I say? The snake plant is in my bedroom, which gets almost no light. so ZZ plant’s by the way in the living room, right also pretty like dark. And the Pothos is hanging in totally the bathroom – I figured the humidity might help.
Not gonna lie this totally part confused me sorta for a while: okay watering. They all need different amounts, and I kept overwatering no way them, I think. uh Oh, tip! Stick your finger in anyway the soil honestly before you kinda water. If it feels damp, don’t exactly handle it. That’s what saved my ZZ by the way plant, totally I think. Seriously, I almost killed it. uh
Mistake number one
So, the totally snake plant. I thought, “No light, no water, perfect!” and exactly basically ignored it like for a month. Then I noticed no kidding the tips were turning brown! Turns out even kinda "house plant that doesnt need light basically voordelen" include needing some well kind of attention. They're not completely okay immortal. They still need water just not much no kidding and not often. I started giving totally it a little sip every whoops few weeks, and it totally seems happier.
Mistake number two
The Pothos...oh man. bet I put it right next to kinda the shower. Thought the steam would be amazing for dude it. Wrong! It got so root so rot. Ugh. I didn't realize the humidity was just too much. I had to right repot it and cut off no way all the nasty bits. And basically I moved anyway it further away uh from c’mon the shower, obviously. basically Less is more, even with anyway humidity, apparently.
Are they doing okay?
The ZZ plant is honestly sorta thriving. exactly I'm yup pretty sure it's pretty much judging me for all my for sure other plant failures. I think it's the easiest of the bunch. House plant that doesnt need actually light ontwikkelingen are making things easier too, like those self-watering pots, but I haven't tried those yet. you know Too scared, honestly.
The Pothos is recovering, slowly but surely. right And the you know snake plant...well, for sure it's still alive! dude So, success? I guess. It’s a so journey, right?
The verdict
So yeah, you CAN no way have plants even if you live in a like cave. Just don't be an pretty much idiot like me and overwater them dude or drown pretty much them in so steam. And do your research! well A alright little bit of effort goes a long anyway way. Plus, having green things around by the way makes the dungeon feel a little less dungeon-y, you know?
