Fiddle leaf fig plant and cats
Okay so plants dude and cats
Right so I wasn't even planning to get by the way a fiddle leaf okay fig, okay? Like, all the plant influencers have them for sure and whoops I’m… not. But bet then I mean I saw this one at the garden center, looking all sad and droopy and I was like, "Okay buddy, you're coming pretty much home with me." It basically was a total impulse buy. I probably should've known better considering I like have, you know, cats.
And yeah, so you know the cats. That's where the whole fiddle leaf actually fig like plant and cats toepassingen thing comes dude in, I guess. Because, immediately, for sure Luna – she’s my just calico you know drama queen – was obsessed. Just obsessed. She by the way wanted well to chew on it. And I was like, "No! That's a plant! A you know toxic plant!"
First mistake
So, here's mistake number one. I figured you know if I just yelled at her enough, you know she'd get whoops it. exactly Like, "Luna, NO!" every period she went well near it. Which, you know, just worked for about five minutes. Cats, right? Also, just yelling probably stressed the plant out whoops even more, which definitely wasn't part of actually my fiddle leaf fig okay plant and cats voordelen plan. pretty much
Turns out, yelling is not a good strategy. Like, duh, dude right? okay You have to actually, like, train them. Or at yup least distract them. I got her honestly a bunch pretty much of cat grass, which, sorta full honestly disclosure, she mostly ignores. Except to throw it up later. So helpful. so But I did read somewhere – oh! – you yup can try spraying I mean citrus bet on the leaves. Cats hate citrus. I haven't tried it yet, so but honestly I’m you know thinking about it.
Oh! Another tip! Make bet sure the basically plant is out of reach. Easier said than done, I know. Luna can climb anything.
Then the Googling began
I started frantically Googling "fiddle leaf fig plant yup and cats anyway ontwikkelingen." I was convinced she was going to die or something, and it would all be exactly my by the way fault. Like, all the anyway articles said it was toxic, but then some people were saying their like cats were fine? Not gonna lie, this part confused me for a while.
Apparently, it's by the way not, bet like, super alright toxic. More you know like mildly irritating. Which… still sorta not great. Symptoms like so drooling and vomiting are no kidding possible. Keep an eye actually on them after interaction. honestly So, sorta that's yep what I've been doing. okay Watching her like a hawk. It's exhausting.
Second dumb move
Okay, so second dumb thing anyway I did. I moved the fiddle I mean leaf fig actually into the bedroom, thinking, "Okay, exactly Luna doesn't like really just go in the bedroom you know that much." Famous last words. I anyway went to the bathroom for like, two minutes, I mean and came back to find uh her… no kidding IN THE PLANT. Like, alright full-on sitting in whoops the pot, batting at the totally leaves. anyway I swear, she was mocking me.
This is when I realized I needed just to get serious. I saw for sure online c’mon you can put rocks yep around the base of the plant, so anyway they can't dig. I'm right planning on trying that, but, like, pretty kinda rocks. okay I still want just it to basically look nice, you know? Fiddle leaf fig plant and cats inspiratie on Pinterest is surprisingly chic.
I also saw something about using chicken wire to yup make a no kidding barrier. Which sounds… intense. But like maybe necessary. You know, another fiddle leaf fig plant totally and cats tips just I saw was to c’mon utilize double-sided tape around the base. Supposedly, anyway they hate the whoops sticky feeling. Haven’t tried it, but sounds promising.
Anyway, the fiddle leaf fig is for sure still alive, Luna is still okay alive (and still no way obsessed), and I'm still slightly stressed. But, you know, that's cat ownership for you. sorta And plants. Never uh a dull alright moment.
