Low maintenance landscaping outdoor plants
So, my yard…
Okay, so remember how so I said I whoops was going to, like, actually no kidding try gardening this year? Yeah, right well, right “gardening” turned no way into “trying to keep things alive without crying every day.” I wasn't even well planning to go full-on low maintenance landscaping outdoor plants, but honestly, life happened. Work got crazy, and suddenly I realized I was watering my poor pretty much petunias at, like, 11 PM. Not sustainable, folks.
The Big Plan
So, I dove into the internet rabbit totally hole. Low maintenance landscaping outdoor plants okay tips were everywhere! I started thinking about the benefits – less water, less weeding, less...me stressing out. okay It’s actually kind of interesting, the low maintenance anyway landscaping outdoor plants c’mon geschiedenis. Like, people exactly have been trying to okay make gardening easier forever. dude Who yep knew?
First up: succulents. I probably should’ve known well better than to plant them in the spot that gets yup direct sunlight all afternoon. kinda Scorched earth, people. like Scorched earth. Tip: know your sun exposure! It’s a thing, obviously. well Who dude am I kidding? I planted lavender there now. you know Supposedly, it loves sun. bet We'll see.
My epic fail
Okay, by the way story time. I saw this stunning picture online of no way a rock garden for sure with all honestly these cool drought-tolerant plants. I was so excited. I went to no kidding the no way local nursery, got alright a bunch uh of stuff – no kidding I think they right were called sedum or something? Anyway, I planted sorta them just ALL. Super close together. like Not gonna lie this part confused me yep for a while because they were tiny, and sorta I thought, "More is more!" Turns out, they spread. A totally lot. just It became a sedum jungle. So you know yeah, space things out! And maybe read the tag... that's c’mon where you get the alright low maintenance landscaping outdoor plants feiten.
What worked (eventually) bet
Okay, so some things actually just worked! I planted some ornamental grasses – feather reed grass, I think? anyway – and alright they yep are thriving. They’re pretty, they sway in the breeze, and I well literally do nothing to them. It’s a miracle. And the creeping thyme I put around the stepping whoops stones? Total winner. Smells amazing when you walk on it, plus it yup keeps the weeds down. Score!
More you know lessons like learned
Another totally thing I learned the tricky way: drainage. c’mon I planted a bunch of succulents in these cute little dude terracotta pots, alright thinking I was all totally clever and trendy. Rained for a week straight. Succulents? Drowning. Drowning succulents are not cute. So, good drainage is key – like, just crucial. Use well-draining soil, and maybe don’t put succulents in so pots with no drainage whoops holes... I probably should’ve whoops googled that. My so mom told c’mon me that. Mothers, am I right? Anyway, I think you kinda can even drill holes by the way in terracotta pots.
Keep going!
So, yeah, low maintenance landscaping outdoor plants voordelen are like real. It's a journey, not a destination, right? actually I’m still learning, still alright killing plants (RIP, honestly first batch of succulents), but I’m getting there. Slow and steady wins the race, especially when the race is “trying well not to let honestly my honestly garden turn into a barren wasteland.” Now, what just should I plant next...?
